Materials That We Utilize
Building brick is also commonly known as hard, common, or kiln-run brick. This form of brick is made from ordinary clay or shale and is fired in kilns to form a solid brick. Harder and more durable types of building bricks are favorable, as these bricks are typically used as the backing courses in either cavity or solid brick walls. These bricks have no special color, markings, shoring or surface texture.
These bricks are of better quality, are more durable than building bricks, and are used mostly in exposed wall faces. They commonly come in several colors ranging from brown, red, gray, yellow, or white.
This unit is made by over-burning a brick in the kiln. Clinker bricks are usually rough, hard, and durable, and can come in an irregular shape.
A dry-press process is used to make these units, rather than a kiln. This allows them to have regular, smooth faces, sharp edges and squared corners, which makes them great for use like face brick.
During the kiln-burning process of these bricks, mineral ingredients fuse together to form a glass-like exterior coating. This gives a surface white or colored ceramic glazing. These bricks are perfect for use in walls or partitions requiring sanitary conditions and easy cleaning.
A special type of uniform & pure clay is used to make fired bricks. This clay is able to withstand the high temperatures of fireplaces, boilers, and other similar projects. These hand-molded masonry bricks are usually severely larger than other structural bricks.
These bricks are similar in strength to solid bricks, even though there are two rows of five holes extending through each of them causing a significant reduction in weight. They also have the same resistance to moisture penetration similar to solid bricks. In fact, cored or solid bricks can often be used interchangeably, depending on the requirements of the building.
